For years, New York’s Roxy set the tone for what a gay mega-club should be and when in closed last year to make way for a new condo development, people lined up for hours for the last dance.
But the club is still there, re-opening from time to time for special events, and it seems that plans for Condo development have cooled with the national mortgage crisis and slowing economy. So what’s the Roxy to do? File for a liquor license and re-open?
Thanks to Towleroad, we learned of a new facebook group formed and two community meetings to discuss this. Recently–like other cities–NYC’s nightlife has been under attack by residents who have moved into previously uninhabited areas of the city, so the Roxy needs your support.
