What pride means to me: Jesse Archer

Jesse ArcherWho is Jesse Archer?
We’ve long known Jesse from his sometimes controversial essays in gay monthly mag Out and his fun blog Jesse on the Brink (www.jesseonthebrink.com). And to top it all off, his new film, A Four Letter Word, comes out on DVD this summer.

Jesse in his own words
Jesse Archer is an insubordinate writer, actor, and world traveler.

What does pride mean to you?
Pride is a celebration of self-expression. Being able to stand out and sparkle —- without fear, shame, or having to hide.

What are you doing for pride this year?
I will be in New York City, marching with a group of friends. We dress up every year in a different theme, and infiltrate the parade. This year is an election year, so I’m sure to be smothered in stars and spangles. It’s exciting for us to be a part of a freedom of expression that many who went before could not share, and that so many in other parts of the world still have to fight for.
