Pedal…for Your LIFE!

This past weekend while you were sucking down vodka tonics and ogling gogo boys, an astounding 2,500 (!) gays, lesbians, straights and everything in between raised their kickstands in San Francisco to embark on a seven day, 545 mile bike ride to Los Angeles to raise money for AIDS research. AIDS Lifecyle is a major fundraiser, raising $13 million this year to contribute to finding a cure, which is getting closer by the day. We’ll be sharing some shots via rider Brett Mendenhall throughout the week from the epic ride. You’ll have to excuse the quality–spandex doesn’t allow for easy camera storage!

On Sunday at 6am, all the riders gathered in SF to set out on a remarkable journey.

This year’s ride carries special significance in that it is the 30th anniversary of the first official report acknowledging the pandemic that came to be known as AIDS.

You couldn’t ask for a more picturesque location than the SF coast to set out this seven day test of mind, body and spirit.
