Chelsea Pines Inn’s Silver Anniversary

In the mood for a Chelsea morning? There’s never been a better time to take a long weekend at the Chelsea Pines Inn. Revisit New York City’s LGBT guesthouse, right in the heart of the gay scene–this time with a discount.

Initially built in the 1850s as a private residence, it became Chelsea’s primary gay guesthouse 25 years ago, back before Chelsea and gay were synonymous.  The “Silver Jubilee Package” is good for three or more nights from now through December 29th, 2011, and includes $25 discount on deluxe rooms,  $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant. Prices start at $627 for double occupancy for the package, a savings of over $400. All that–and you get a vintage Paul Newman poster, shirtless of course, in the bathroom of the “Paul Newman suite.”

While it may be retro Hollywood inside the Pines, it’s very much New York the moment you step out the front door. You can use the dollars saved to explore all the ‘hood’s offerings: Nikel Men’s Spa is across the street and the Chelsea Market is just around the corner. Wine bar Zampa is a few blocks away, as is Blue Ginger Sushi. After you are wined and dined, Chelsea boasts one of the best selections of gay bars and clubs in the world–17 to be exact.
