This new Raleigh subburb nightclub has shown that Raleigh continues to be the place in North Carolina to go to find good entertainment for GLBT people, great music, very good drinks and a great selection of beer.At ICON the crowd is lively and mixed ... with some very hot guys dancing and cruising every night I have been. The atmosphere is very sohisticated.

This is a real jewel for Raleigh GLBT community looking for a great neighborhood place to just have a drink and snack with friends or to go to to meet new friends. It is not a membership place. It opens early in the afternoon. The owner welcomes everyone herself and the staff is great.

I am sure the mostly women clientle enjoy the atmosphere at Steel Blue. The owners have invested lots of money into the building they occupy. The problem is the location is to far for the Raleigh / Wake County GLBT community to travel to and really enjoy and then have to drive back late at night. Club Steel Blue is mostly associated with Durham's Lesbian community ... which is great foir them ... I will not be visiting this club again, there are better and more convienient bars, nightclubs and resturants over in Raleigh for me. I do wish them luck in their out of the way location in Durham.
