Impressive facilities
The space is great with most of the equipment one needs...lack few things though...the members are not as trendy, buffed and tanned like the ones in Capetown. Hey..better to not workout at all!
A Must!!
This is a hidden gem! A gorgeous late 19th century building houses an eclectic selection of artworks, from photographs to sculptures. An impressive selection of drawings made by French and Dutch naturalists during the first scientific expeditions to Brazil is permanently exhibited, a must see. The museum has a nice outdoor cafe that faces a lush park, all adjacent to an amazing train station which was brought from England in the 1840's piece by piece!
For a serious workout!
Every conceivable machine is found at Quads however it lacks natural light (no skylights and few windows). The majority of the members seems straight so not cruisy at all. Personally I appreciate the wide array of free weights. I've been a member for over 15 years.
Minimalism Decor and Cute Guys
Always good looking people enjoying delicious dishes. The ambiance is quite alive and loud which makes this place energetic and fun. One of the few places open until midnight. Love it!
Good value...great location!
The rooms are quite basic and I recommend the ocean front rooms, besides facing the sea they have awesome sunset views and no noise (there is a pedestrian boulevard right in front). The breakfast buffet is above average (cakes, could cuts, chicken pies!). After hours the doors are closed so the front desk employees always know who is arriving and at what time, not so private!
Charming Bistro
This place has been successful for over 25 years. The bilingual staff is friendly and cute. No pressure to relinquish your table so the wait is long...who cares when one can see and be seeing while having cocktails!
