Awful!
I went with a friend and we sat at the bar. This was my frist and last visit, before coming here I looked at the menu and photos and had high expectations.Everything was a disappointment. I am amazed this place has received so many good reviews. Even for a Tuesday evening the place was packed, my friend and I were sitting at the bar a good 10 minutes before we were even approached by the server. We decided to just have drinks and appetizers, my first choice was the warm marinated olives. I love olives and thought it would be delicious. Wow was I wrong, this was one of the worst tasting things I've ever had in a restaurant! No olive flavor at all, aren't olives supposed to have that salty olive flavor? I have no idea what spices or flavoring is in the marinade but both my friend and I took one bite and decided to leave the rest of it. This dish actually made me queasy and whatever flavor they are using lingers in your mouth a long time. yuck. My friend next xhose the mini veggie burgers which were ok, but not great. We also had the artisan cheese board, again another disappointment, it was pretty flavorless and measly. For drinks I had a glass of white wine and my friend had the Drunken Angel cocktail which she said wasn't very good. Beware that the service in this place is SLOW. I won't be back.
IMPRESSIVE
I have been a member of this club for the past 2 months, I am impressed. When you first sign up they spend a good amount of time with you getting to know your lifestyle/eating habits etc and what your fitness goals are. The full range of memberships are offered as well. This club is huge, 75.000 sq feet. Top notch workout equipment and lots of it. Indoor running track, Junior Olympic 4 lane lap pool that is great, usually my focus when I go there. This place is clean, clean, clean! Staff is always keeping things tidy and employees are friendly.
CLASSY AND COOL
LOVE this place! If I lived in the Ft. Lauderdale area I would be at the Naked Grape all the time. Everything about this place is cool, from the decor, done in soothing colors with soft lighting, glowing candles, perfect jazz/new age type music playing and great wine. I was in Ft. Lauderdale for a long weekend, I went to the Naked Grape on my first day there, a Friday, and liked it so much I went back the next night again. Both nights I enjoyed chatting with interesting people in my seat at the bar. They have a small plates menu where they feature different cheeses and serve you a plate with cheese, olives. berries and crackers while you sip your wine. If you are a wine lover like me this place is a must! I can't wait to go back.
RE:Too Broadway
I have to say I agree with DesertRat and his opinion of the showtunes. Not that I dislike them, but I think one night a week(Sundays) would be enough, however I have been coming to this bar for 20 years and have watched it expand and still like this place. Usually a fun enjoyable experience, although a couple of times I had walked up to the video DJ to make a request and was handed some rudeness and attitude. He seemed to really not like what he was doing. In spite of these 2 things I still like coming here for the mixed crowd, the bar has great atmosphere, sleek and stylish in every room, this bar is huge and the bartenders are friendly.
Great food, nice atmosphere
I just went there this week with my co-workers for a farewell lunch for someone in our department. I tried the shrimp/sundried tomato special on linguine and it was perfect! Large shrimp, tasty sun dried tomato flavor with every bite. The house salad was very good, portions are very generous. The Tiramisu was fantastic, light and airy. Service was friendly and attentive, we ate inside which is very airy with high ceilings. There is outdoor patio dining as well. Prices are moderate.Definately planning to return.
