scarbeary answered "I'll be in San Diego Wednesday 8-10-11 and again Sunday 8-14-11. Are there any gay bars in SD ..."both the hole and pecs have bbq on sunday wed you have to take your chances.

Anything gay ?..."there is the chi chi club on broadway between 9th and 10th. it is kind of a dive and then if you head into downtown by way of fifth you will start running into bars sro caliph loft etc. the vulcan has a diverse mix.of men a lot of bear types and daddies by the evening a younger crowd will start showing up. there will be a sprinkling of chubs also quite the diverse mix but not many twinkies

Bars & Clubs in San Diegowhat a difference time can makei have been going to pecs off and on for ten years. i used to work very close by and would stop in for a drink most nights and always had a good time but now i only go occasionally. i met one of my best friends there years ago but he is the only one that i still hang out with and haven''t really had too much success making any other friends there. i haven't noticed all the rudeness that other reviewers are talking about but maybe because i know most of the bartenders for a long time. it has a nice patio for smoking and they have hot dogs on mon. and meatballs on fri. during the early evening. go and see for yourself and writer your own review i am curious what others will think now

Bathhouses & Sex Clubsmy home away from homeI have been going to the vulcan for over ten year and have never had a bad time there. As a bear of size a lot of places in the gay scene don't quite feel comfortable but not so at the vulcan since i don't stick out like a sore thumb when i am in nothing but my towel. The staff and clientele are all very friendly. If you aren't gettin lucky you can still have a good time watching regular movies on the big screen tv in the main lounge or just lounge around on the patio and there is of course always the steam on sauna. I can count the times that i haven't gotten lucky on one hand. Then there is the famous new years eve party. I haven't missed one since i went to my first one in 1999 what a way to bring in the new millenium. Over the years i have met many men here that are now my friends. The Vulcan is truly my home away from home.
