Georgie's Alibi Bar/Club in Fort Lauderdale
***** Excellent food, good service, 2-for-1 Happy Hours

Had some really great food here. Suggest the Cuban. Excellent service when I went and you can't beat the 2-for-1 drink Happy Hours that run from 11am til 9 pm.

Boom Bar/Club in Fort Lauderdale
***** Nice, laid-back dance bar

Nice medium-sized dance bar with two bars and a nice-sized dancefloor. Decent music and never a cover. Located nearby Georgie's Alibi in the Wilton Manors Shopping Complex.

James Club 88 opened in August 2007 as a GLBT-friendly piano bar and cafe in downtown Columbus. The bar features daily live music with the local talents of James Blackmon (owner of the bar), Bobby Hamlin, Mary McClendon, Debe Wenig and a slew of other jazz/lounge acts.

Recommend this place for $3 Long Island Thursdays in huge glasses. Also occasionally has some pretty interesting special events. The bar/restaurant serves a really excellent lunch. Sundays are a delicious brunch and Tuesdays are now strip nights.

Jacks Corner Pub Bar/Club in Columbus
***** Sundays are now Ladies Nights
Posted: August 19, 2007
Sundays are now Ladies Nights. Saturdays are usually strippers or theme parties. A nice, laid-back, low-key bar. Not very busy during the day (like a lot of bars).

WOOFS Bar & Grille Bar/Club in Columbus
***** A fun place for bears and all types

The bar and patio are busy on Friday and Saturday nights. For a more low-key night, check out Thursdays for Karaoke and Wednesdays for strippers.

German Village Coffee Shop Restaurant in Columbus
***** A surprising taste treat, top pick for cheap eats
First to Review - August 12, 2007
Excellent, inexpensive brunch and breakfast selections in this small, cramped made-to-order breakfast nook in the heart of German Village's Thurman Avenue strip of diners. Superb A+ service and DEFINITELY worth the wait. Only open until around 3 p.m. most days. You'll be shocked -- many breakfast items under $5.00!

Cafe Corner Restaurant in Columbus
***** Great food!
First to Review - August 12, 2007
This place, nestled off 3rd and Pennsylvania avenues in Victorian Village, is an unexpected surprise. What looks like may be a refurbished gas station is actually a pleasant bistro dining experience. Grab a newspaper and sit out on the patio that overlooks Victorian Village. The varied menu features plenty of vegetarian-friendly choices and hearty breakfast options served all day. Try the excellent Cuban, the tasty Pesto and Avocado on old world loaf or the proscuitto mozerella sandwich. Everything here is delicious!

Union Bar + Food Bar/Club in Columbus
***** Newer, posh, drastically improved.
Posted: June 10, 2007
Highly recommend the new and improved Union Bar + Food. Always packed and always a stiff drink. $3 Long Island Thursdays are especially fun. Try the chicken satay appetizer (only $5 during Happy Hour) or crab cakes. Also recommended: Diablo Pasta and Club Sandwich.

I had a similar experience with South Bend. It kind of smelled and I wasn't really impressed with the drinks or service.

Havana Video Lounge Bar/Club in Columbus
***** I like this quaint, hip bar...

Try the highly recommended apple martinis. Thursdays are great for Gritty Kitty, a mash-up of alternative and indie tracks spun by DJ Moxie.

Axis Nightclub Bar/Club in Columbus
***** A bit on the snooty side
Posted: June 10, 2007
Axis is known for being the quintessinal gay dance club that caters to the 18+ crowd and is only open on weekends. A bit on the snooty side but occasionally has some interesting drag shows held there.
