Andaz West Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles
***** top hotel with roof top pool and a fantastic view
First to Review - August 27, 2009 - Visited: August 2009
This Hotel of the new hyatt brand "andaz" is centrally located on the sunset strip. It is close to gay bars in west hollywood, within walking distance or a short cab drive. Rooms are largly sized with either a fantastic view over town or the hollywood hills. The minibar, wifi, laptops in lounge aswell as caffee in the lobby is complimentary! Valet Parking is 25 USD. Hotel is quite stylish, has a full gym and a roof top pool with bar and a great view! In the afternoon quite nice for a chill out before going out. I had a great stay!

Cafe des Artistes Restaurant in Berlin
***** Chic restaurant, nice outdoor seating
First to Review - August 22, 2009
This is a new amendment to the gay scene in Schoeneberg, just around the corner to Axel Hotel, Prinzknecht and Connection. It is a branch of the so what famous cafe des artistes in Moscow. The cuisine is mediterranean style, the service is excellent but maybe a bit pricy compared to other locations in this area. So they try to get to the top, but yet haven´t found their clientele yet. The outdoor terrace is wonderful on a hot summer night!

Schwuz Bar/Club in Berlin
***** Danceclub with different theme evenings
First to Review - August 22, 2009
This is the one of the oldest dance clubs in Berlin, a classic, founded in 1971 as an gay centre, and this is where the name comes from, schwules zentrum (gay centre)=schwuz. It was rather alternative in the 70ties and not commercial in the beginning , but basically became a normal danceclub in the last years. You still feel the alternative atmosphere somehow. You enter through the Cafe Melitta Sundstroem. The crowd is mostly younger and the music varies to different theme parties, like London Calling, bump or Madonna Mania. So check online www.schwuz.de for party updates!

Cafe Berio Bar/Club in Berlin
***** See and be seen!
First to Review - July 24, 2009
This is the place to be on a sunny afternoon/early evening or even for breakfast, especially on saturdays, when there is the food market at the nearby Winterfeldtplatz. It is a cafe, good for coffee and cake, all outside chairs face the pavement and street, just like a french style cafe in Paris at the Champs Elysee. So go there and watch people going by and get seen! If you don´t like the catwalk atmoshere, there are many cafes around, just like Manzini and Cafe Maybach.

Raststaette Gnadenbrot Restaurant in Berlin
***** Rest stop restaurant
First to Review - May 10, 2009
"Raststätte" is the German word for roadhouse or rest stop at a motorway. So the decoration in this restaurant plays with this theme. It is a bit trashy, like rest stops normally are, but on purpose. The restaurant caters more for a less stylish crowd and the leather section as well. And "Gnadenbrot" is food you get for charity, so you will find small dishes quite inexpensive, as well as a full menu. It is also good for a small snack in between night clubbing. Food is fresh and the restaurant offers different theme evenings with music as well. Check the website for events.

Hafenbar Bar/Club in Berlin
***** one of Schoenebergs classics, next to Tom´s Bar
First to Review - April 25, 2009
Hafenbar is one of Schoenebergs classics, and a good place to go especially on mondays, with quizz-o-rama, a gay quizz night. First monday of the month in english. In summer times most men just stand outside the bar and drink beer. Toms next door is open for crusing than, and on mondays there is also a happy hour in Toms, which makes the pavement in front of the hafenbar crowded. You get two beer for the price of one!
