Felt underwhelmed by this place, since it was hyped up like the next best thing after Downtown Vale Todo. Went at 11ish on a Friday or Saturday (apparently early for Lima). From the outside it was impossible to tell if there was even anybody inside. (Though the street itself had lots of activity at that hour.) But I certainly wasn't the first to arrive, and eventually it filled up entirely. The cover included a drink. Wide variety of cocktails on the menu. There's basically one large dance floor in the middle with few places around the edges to chill, plus an upstairs area, but I didn't pay for the VIP cover that would have allowed me to go up there. Not quite sure why, but I got a '90s vibe from this place. Maybe it was just my bad luck that night, but I had distinctly odd experiences with the few people that I had contact with there, including the bartenders, and got weird vibes from the place. Ended up leaving for elsewhere just when the place was finally filling up.

The gaycities description for this place ("Popular Lima disco-club in dangerous distrito") didn't fit at all with what I found. I think they might have mixed it up with the description for 80 Divas. The area didn't seem so much dangerous as just dead at night (I walked there from Parque Kennedy area). When I first approached the block, there was no sign of life. Nor even a literal sign for the business. When I crossed the street I could finally hear some club music behind a door, so I rang the buzzer. Somebody walked downstairs to let me in. Up the first flight was indeed a bar and loungey area. There was also a booth/room to check one's coats and/or valuables. Huh? Turns out this was something akin to those video/"book" stores in the U.S. with the areas in the back for other activities. Since I was already there, and the cover was only 10 soles and included a drink (I think it was a Wednesday), I figured I would stay anyway, even though I wasn't looking to hook up. Once I went up another flight, it was pretty damn dark. There were two spaces for watching videos, an area with private cabins, and an even darker labyrinth style area that I didn't have the guts to venture into. The guys there that night seemed to range from 20 to 45. They employees were very nice, and IIRC told me that the place is open 7 days a week from 4pm-12am. So, not what I was expecting, but I guess would definitely be a viable option if I were in the mood for a quickie.

The Facebook page shows only pictures of lesbians, though gay Limeños assured me that gay men went too. I went early on a Friday to check it out since it was free before a certain hour. Classy-looking place, but on the small side, so it got packed pretty fast (there seemed to be an upstairs? but it was roped off). I was definitely one of very few men there though (was later told that Friday is pretty much exclusively lesbian, and that other nights are more mixed). The scene seemed very lipstick to me; I felt like I had entered into a scene from the Peruvian version of The L Word.

Went on a Thursday because there were apparently barra libre (all you can drink) till 5am. The Facebook page said it was 20 soles, but it was 30 soles when I got there (still a basement bargain either way). The name made me think it would be some cutesy fahhhbulous locale with lots of flamboyant guys, but the scene seemed more blue-collar and the building itself kind of run-down. Rather small inside, with several bedroom-sized rooms for dancing, and a small loungey area, though the night I went it wasn't anywhere near full. More than one way-too-drunk person. I was able to get there and back (to Miraflores) cheaply and easily on one of the combis that run along Arequipa Avenue all night. Strippers dancing the whole time, and towards the end of the things (4am-ish) some of them were in a contest, leaving nothing to the imagination. Somebody there told me there used to be a dark room, but at the time it was closed, apparently in order for the rest of the business to legally remain open. I didn't meet quality people there (the opposite, really), but maybe that was just bad luck, or a bad night.

Reliable choice. Open every night of the week. I believe the nights I went were a Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. On Friday and Saturday (at least) they open the whole huge place up and it gets packed, but on the "slower" nights it's just two of the dance/bar spaces, but it still was busy and fun each time I went. Scene skewed young. Mixed gay/lesbian crowd. Go to dance and hang out; there's not much to see in the way of shows or dancers, that I recall. Cover (when charged on weekends) included a basic drink. Occasionally I would drink more than expected because of either temporary drink specials or, on two nights I was there, there were drag queens getting pushed around on a float, pouring vodka into the mouths of whoever opened their mouth as they passed by, like baby birds getting fed (terrible cheap vodka, though). The web site is great (http://mundovaletodo.com/) since it has hour/price/program info for all upcoming days. I ?think? smokers can go out front, at least before a certain hour past which there's no re-entry. Felt safe walking back to my lodging on the other side of Parque Kennedy. Lots of security employees at the club itself. On the way out the door, they tell you not to take the taxis waiting right out front. Good experiences every time I went. Would definitely recommend.
