    ***** Bustling Brunch!
    First to Review - November 23, 2009
Centrally located on the hot block of P between 14th and 15th, Commissary has a fantastic weekend brunch chock full of great food and cute customers. Alcohol service begins at 11, but after that the mimosas (and other juice & champagne variations) are great coupled with the limited but delicious menu choices. Real buttermilk pancakes, fresh pastries, and healthy meat selections made for a tasty meal. A tip: be prepared to wait for a table, as much of the indoor area is dedicated to some loungy-couch seating that the management would do better to clear away and replace with tables on busy weekend mornings.

    ***** Yummy Breakfast!
    First to Review - November 18, 2009
Dupont Circle seems to be devoid of anywhere to go for breakfast on a weekday, but Kramerbooks & Afterwords is the one fabulous exception. The menu was short and sweet, but included some great omelets, benedicts, and other breakfast staples (my whole-wheat belgian waffle was terrific!). The Cafe area is in a glass enclosed outdoor patio that looks like it can be opened up in summer weather, and while simple, the decor was pleasing enough. Good wait-staff and happy customers made for a pleasant morning. And when you're though, you can browse the fabulous bookstore for anything from gay fiction to political commentary.

    ***** Ups and downs...
    Posted: November 05, 2009
I think this place deserves a little credit. The venue is gorgeous, open bar until 11pm (come on!), and packed with guys. On the other hand I can understand being upset at the experiences described in the other reviews. Not everyone I saw there was a pretty-boy, though the crowd definitely skewed towards the lookers. The people I met were all friendly--I'd go back in a heart beat were I not 3,000 miles away!

    ***** Spicy Corn Fritters, Anybody?
    First to Review - November 03, 2009
Pacific Rim Fusion, that's what they call this hippest "citrusy" restaurant around the Castro area. Whoddathunk corn can be fritters and spicy? Deelish! Tangerine is located on 16th and Sanchez. The mid-size fancy ambience of a dining place offers excellent array of fusion food from Lemongrass Lamb Lollipops to Pineapple Duck cooked with red curry, coffee and coconut served with rice cake. Midsize to mid-priced menu. This restaurant is worth a comeback for the excellent food and customer service. Hmmm...I should've asked if they actually serve tangerine drinks....

***** Miss Fife's but found Dawn Ranch to be comfortable
    Posted: November 02, 2009
I stayed here once when it was Fife's and brunched here many times back then, and I really do miss the gay crowds. But now that it's Dawn Ranch Lodge and is catering to straights and weddings, it's still a nice place for a quiet cabin away from the parties at RRR and elsewhere. We thought it would be nice to go out elsewhere and then have a quiet place to come home to, and never felt intimidated or discouraged by the staff. I hesitate to reveal what I hoped would be our little secret, so don't tell anyone that cabin 302 is an amazingly comfortable, secluded hideaway for ~4 people.
