Excellent place to stay in Guadalajara!

This place is very unassuming from the outside but once you step in, it feels like a little oasis. It felt very safe walking around that area day and night. The fountain, the decor, the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Excellent location to the downtown and historic area of the city. Walking distance to everything and in the middle of the gay hood. Prices are very reasonable, especially if you are paying with American $. John, the manager is a great host and very helpful in providing recommendations to places in the city. As per his suggestion, three of us went to have lunch at the “fonda de San Miguel” (if I’m not mistaken) and we were very impressed with the restaurant. Very old Mexican décor and the food was really good and great prices. The restaurant gave us free margaritas once we mentioned we were staying at Casa Alebrijes. In conclusion, I highly recommend Casa Alebrijes whenever you are in Guadalajara. A great, safe, beautiful, comfortable, well located “casa” because it does fell like a home. FYI I only saw gay men in the premises but I'm quite sure it would be great for anybody within the gay community..
