    An Unwelcoming Experience

The owner was very friendly while showing us around the resort. However when I attempted to negotiate a better price on the room, he became very testy with me and suggested that we stay at "The W" (The Worthington Resort). He originally offered my party a price for one night that included a 3rd person surcharge but was willing to waive the surcharge and offer a lower rate if we stayed for two nights. Since my party wasn't sure if they wanted to stay the 2 nights, I asked the owner if he could waive the surcharge if we stayed for one night. His attitude changed in an instant, and then he told us we should stay elsewhere. I even apologized to him if he felt offended, but I told him this is business. His rudeness took me by surprise. Fortunately I've been to Ft. Lauderdale in the past and had a wonderful experience at the Worthington Resort. However, I can't imagine what a negative impression this man would have placed on this city had this been my first visit. His arrogance was shameful to say the least. Beware! We ended up staying at the Dunes Resort and met some nice guys who had a similar run in with the owner at the Elysium. What a small world!
