hypnoticmix answered "So say you wanted to do a mix of fun things in LA, which definitely includes bar hopping, but y..."I agree Silverlakes Akbar & MJ's are good recomendations. West Hollywood is of course congested with things to do. If you don't mind a 50min. trip each way take the Blue Line to Long Beach end of the line and walk up to the neighborhood bars on Broadway always a fun friendly crowd there.

Great recommendations above but my favorite evening out with food and a few friends is still Cha Cha Cha on Haight St. the roast pork makes me mumble expletives like Anthony Bourdain and the fried calamari is definitely one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and the sangria is pretty exceptional. Careful now it'll creep up on you so mind your pour, lol.

hypnoticmix answered "Are there any events I can go to in WeHo where I don't have to worry about papparazzi (like Rol..."papparazzi?! LOL Well if you insist on staying in West Hollywood stepping out to a club two doors down is like trying to hide in a different room in the same house. They find you. My suggestion would be MJ's in Silverlake. It's owned by Micky's same hot bartenders and gogo dancers and for some reason they play porn out on the patio screens but anyhoo it's always a blast when I go there and a nice break from the "scene". Olly olly oxen free! LOL

hypnoticmix answered "What are the nights to go out in the San Fernando Valley where there will be more than two peop..."Hmm good question. Not in but relatively close to SFV is MJ's in Silverlake. That always seems to be fun and hot.

hypnoticmix answered "I am a lover of books, especially rare or collectible ones related to LGBT history. Are there a..."Not in San Francisco city but Half Price Books in Dwn Twn Berkeley right across the stree from the Bart exit has an excellent LGBT collection. It's a 20min. ride each way and $7.30 round trip.

hypnoticmix answered "Since the Boom boom Room and Woody's are gone, is there any semblance of a scene left?"It's a shame they closed. I remember making out on the beach below the Boom Boom when I was a young las. Huntington Beach seems to be picking up the slack for the default on Gay entertainment in Laguna Beach and Buena Park with the loss of Ozz there. Check out Ibiza Bar & Night Club they opened in 2010.

I agree the Powerhouse can be fun however let's be clear it takes one with certain sensibilities or lack there of to enjoy it for what it is. Yes there are gentlemen and I use the term loosely in the rear patio enjoying a fair trade of illegal stimulants and from time to time if you're lucky, or not you may bare witness to a public display of fellatio or intercourse. So if that's your cup of tea by all means enjoy. My advise though would be the Eagle, Hole In The Wall and Holy Cow for the slightly tamer variety. And if you're a dancing fool most definitely The EndUp indeed.

hypnoticmix answered "I've never been wine tasting. Friends are telling me that Sonoma is actually better. But does a..."I really prefer the more tranquil atmosphere of Sonoma to Napa. Napa is certainly a lovely place but thank goodness for Sonoma it is also the stronger tourist magnet of the two. When I go wine tasting in Sonoma Valley my two musts are Roshambo and Hop Kiln winery's. The contrast between the two hip modern vs. old school charm is always a nice adventure.

Restaurants in San DiegoWOW!Coronado holds a culinary gem and its name is IL Fornaio. Our Italian waiter was a caricature sent by the Gods speaking with classic Italian hand gestures that were as authentic as the exquisite polenta on my plate. The place is huge, a Palace of restaurants with sweeping views of S.D. sky line and private rooms for parties also a full bar and outdoor patio seating. Food, Service, Presentation all Excellent. The complimentary hot fresh rosemary rolls and sourdough sliced bread were heaven. For four mouth watering meals, Bellini, 2 Italian bears (that's beers not bears) LMAO, mineral water, 1 large orange juice (fresh) and two deserts the bill came to $115. The meal and the experience worth every last cent in my opinion. To get here you can drive over the bridge of course or take the Ferry from the San Diego water front which pretty much drops you off right next door.
