    Ed Lugo Resort is GREAT!

Ed Lugo Resort is great! I travel a lot and rarely am I compelled to write a review, but I had such a great stay at Ed Lugo Resort that I felt the need to let others know how beautiful this place is! Here is a recap of my stay: First, I was personally greeted by Ed with a glass of wine. He introduced me to the staff which immediately made me feel welcomed and could already get a great feeling of the personalized service. He helped me to my room with my luggage and gave me a tour of the resort. I was so impressed to find a robe, fresh orchids, and chocolates on the bed! There are orchids and fresh flowers everywhere inside and outside! I was staying in the two bedroom suite where I was amazed to find a full kitchen (side-by-side refrigerator stocked with complimentary bottled water and soda, microwave, oven, etc) beautiful granite countertops, and complimentary snacks. I run an Internet biz so the complimentary wireless Internet was perfect. I arrived in the evening which is when I think the resort has a special magic! The garden and pool area is especially breathtaking at night because there are soothing, glowing lights placed throughout the gardens that make it particularly alluring. The sound of enchanting water is found throughout the resort with the waterfall in the pool and various fountains. His staff was very friendly and always there for anything I needed. I have stayed and/or toured through nearly all the guesthouses in Ft. Lauderdale/Wilton Manors and each of them have something they are especially good at i.e. staff, landscaping, pools, rooms, decor, location, etc. and I would say Ed Lugo Resort has one of the the best mix of all of those items. If you haven't spent much time in Fort Lauderdale you have three main choices... You can stay at the beach, downtown, or in Wilton Manors. I have stayed in all three areas and I like using Wilton Manors as the homebase and then visiting to the other areas because I found myself spending the most time in Wilton Manors where there is some great nightlife and one of my favorite restaurants which is just around the corner from Ed Lugos which is called Galanga's (they have delicious Thai and Japanese cuisine) and for more casual you have to do Rosies Bar and Grill which has a very fun atmosphere. Ed Lugo Resort may not be exclusively gay but it is gay owned and operated and in the heart of Wilton Manors! So just to wrap up, it is not only the location, the beautiful gardens, waterfall, pool, staff, Aveda products, giant luxurious towels, lots of pillows, or great rooms, but it is Ed Lugo himself that make this such a wonderful choice. He is well traveled and has thought of a lot of details for you. I encourage you to stop in and have a glass of wine with him as he is a very interesting man! I can't wait to come back for another visit!
