Smells like twink and bear spirit

Bartenders: Troy- cute, but a little high strung and in need of ego-stroking. Billy- cute, but a high-maintenance Jewish-American princess. Chris- everyone's fave eye candy, complete with tats. Mike- straight looking and usually friendly. Chris' and Mike's hours have been changing recently, but they usually work Thursday nights, and Troy works Wednesday night and Sunday night. Billy often works Tuesday until 9. The clientele- every gay person from lesbians to twinks to old men to bears to leather curious to geeks. Even a few goths and rockers sometimes. Too many hustlers and white trash, sadly. Sometimes, homeless persons beg for money or drinks, so be careful when you leave. Straight bar next door, but the crowd tends to be harmless. A black beauty parlor is opening on the other side. Is this neighborhood becoming "straighter"? I don't know, but it's always a good idea to go with a friend and watch your surroundings. Car vandalism happens now and then, and gay bashings are not unknown. Here's the most honest thing I can tell you about the Hawk: it's a bar for men who have given up. All the people who say they hook up or make friends or find boyfriends here may be telling the truth. I'm not the most attractive guy, and I'm comfortable with that, and I do go to the Hawk once in a while. But don't make it a habit. Take heed.

Better than most, but that's not sayin much

An OK place for a drink or two when you're getting started or wrapping up a night. Not a place to spend the whole night. Bartenders can be arrogant. Customers are cliquish. In other words, typical yuppie twink gay bar. I'm tired of writing bad reviews. Can't wait until somebody opens a decent, fun, cool bar without all the attitude and high prices. Is it possible???

    Here's the TRUTH

Don't Go! Bar is located in very dangerous district. Homeless men wander the streets at night. Desolate and isolated area in an industrial district by the train tracks and old warehouses. Main drag of St. Clair Ave is sort of OK. That's where the Stallion is. I've heard of guys who had their car windows smashed even on St Clair. Well, the Bull may be technically separate from the Flex Baths, but it is attached to the complex. Everyone knows that you are going to the baths complex if they see you park in the immediate area, so if you are closeted or afraid to be noticed, be forewarned. No legitimate businesses in the area. A crack bar- the Magic City- a notorious place, is nearby. A very high crime area. Nearby on Payne Avenue, carjackings and assaults happen too often. Honestly, guys, don't patronize this place. Some people on here have an agenda, either for the bar owner or against the baths. But I'm telling you the truth. I'm a CSU student, I know the area, and I'm looking out for the 20 and 30 something guys here. The dirty old men and supertwinks can keep on patronizing Mean Bull, the Stallion, and other dives.
