Delfina is one of the best restaurants in the city and their new-ish pizzeria next door is just as good. Come here for interesting takes on the favorites and some new ingredient combos and amazing dough. The also have appetizers and a few non-pizza entrees as well. I've been here a number of times and yesterday we sat at the counter and watched them knead mozzarella from the curd they buy from a local dairy. The waiters are amazingly knowledgeable about what they serve. Really impressive all around. It's also one of the few restaurants in the city to have outdoor seating in warm weather

Bourbon Street was the perfect place for boy-watching with a good mix of people and lots of pretty boys. The crowd seemed a little more LA and a bit less friendly than some of the other SD spots, but overall I enjoyed it. It's in University Heights near a few other restaurants but otherwise away from the Hillcrest or North Park bars, so it's harder to barhop here.

This place has no charm. When we checked in we had to hunt someone down to give us a key. When we arrived there was a huge stain on the bed spread. Yes it was soaked through. The cleaning people said it could not come out in the wash. They were wonderful when they were around. This place is only good if you have to bring your dog (they allow dogs). But beware the hall will smell like damp dog on cold days. They did not remodel. They painted and hung new pictures. The host in the front restaurant has attitude. Rumor has it they lost their executive chef and are suffering since.
