  • Great food, good prices, and helpful staff.
I've been a few times and I really liked Barnaby's ( Baby Barnaby's is in the same building beside it ). The food is huge, so I take most of the food home. I'm definitely going back (again).

  • 3.5 stars: Worth a visit, but don't get excited
The clothing selection was pretty much all g-star. They have some standard brands: hugo, sevens, andrew christian, plus some very skimpy underwear ( I've a theory biased on of all the skimpy underwear I've seen--that Houstonians dress in clothing that makes them appear quite masculine, but they compensate by wearing boy-thongs underneath ). They have a large selection of underwear, but I didn't seem to like any of it that I fit into... unlike other gay stores (e.g. Priape in vancouver, montreal, calgary). They're priced unusually high for the states. It's even more expensive than Canadian pricing. They let my fiance and I try on the swimwear together in the same change room (which is useful because we're the same size and so both of us have to try on the clothes anyway). I will go back, it's worth a visit to see. My fiance's been to a fashion show there that was supposedly quite cool. As for sizes, I couldn't find my sized belt (started at 38), though I really liked quite a few of them. The swimwear styles that I did like didn't come in the colours that I wanted, but I'lll try again later.

  • Great staff, awesome patio, but lacking a large enough dance floor
I've been to f-bar twice now and I had fun both times. The bathrooms are weird though. There are two male/female bathrooms. I feel they should instead have a male and a female bathroom. Drinks are very strong and well priced. You really have to share the giant-i-normous margarita. From experience, it's really too much for one person to drink :). I will definitely go back because of the staff and cleanliness. The dance floor is not in an ideal location. A queue at the nearest bar eventually envelops the dance floor and makes it difficult to dance. For those of you who like to refrain from dancing, there is ample seating. The people there are a lot of fun too, I recommend giving this place a visit. Tuesdays are drag shows, but the performances were average to mediocre (maybe the margarita had hit me by then though). One thing I despise about this bar (and well most bars in Houston) is the valet parking. ALthough Houston is almost impossible to navigate without driving, valet parking simply encourages people to drink and drive. So if you use this service, please don't drink and drive.
