40.
oof, what to say, a Paris institution. It's crowded and has problems with drugs (I witnessed paramedics getting brought in multiple times last year), but it's clean generally and it's easy to find other people. They have a little snack in the afternoon on weekends at least and a decent gym to work out. The facilities are good and the space is big. The crowd is mostly 25- to 50-year-olds. Some space on the upper levels for leather/bdsm.
nice people, generally for the older crowd (as in, if you're under 50, you're going to feel young). Feels cramped though, which I guess is something that comes with being in Paris, and there are some bizarre design choices and the hallways are confusing. But it's clean and people are nice, what more do you want?
A calm cafe in a touristy neighborhood with a good view of Beaubourg. Get a cheese plate and some wine and just enjoy being in Paris. This place is great, they will let you sit there as long as you want. It's not gay, I guess, but it's close enough to the Marais that it's like gay-adjacent. But like it's just a cafe.
One of Europe's gems, this place is amazing if you're looking for more than the standard nightclub experience. A big wooden dancefloor with traditional dancing until 1am. The crowd is generally older (like over 30 years old), really casual, and a good vibe generally.
