Best on the Island

Small (5 rooms) but just short of luxurious. Large shower (could easily fit 5 men) and comfortable beds. MAGNIFICENT views from atop the highest mountain in St. Martin. Large pool and Jacuzzi available 24 hours a day. Located on the French side. Wonderful, friendly owners (the only staff) who serve a delicious continental breakfast and wine & cheese every day at 4PM. It was difficult to endure 78 degree, sunny weather every single day <groan> and even more difficult to choose from among the 30 or so wonderful restaurants every night. The resort is surrounded by jungle-like plants and trees. A large turtle greeted us every morning. You need a car, not only to get to/from the resort but to get to the beaches. Orient Beach is the only "officially sanctioned" nudist beach but we had no trouble sunning and swimming naked at any of the 4 other beaches we visited. The rooms all have air conditioning because the temperature and humidity stay about the same at night. Mu partner and I visited in 2013 and are going back in March. We met other guests with whom we keep in touch. One may join us for the return visit. Don't miss this one. It's hard to get a room so book well in advance.
