Websites do offer a lot of information, but don't forget, they are advertising tools. I've spent a lot of time at Island House, which has a small poolside restaurant and bar and the rooms are nice but it's $$$. I was at Big Rubys a quite a few years ago, and it was nice but it's closer to the heart of Key West which is a bit noisier. Stayed at Equator a few years ago. Rooms were blah, but they did have a nice pool area and nice staff. Depending on the time of year, you'll find young guys to old guys at any of these resorts, so it's hit and miss. I think once you narrow it down to a few resorts, do a trip advisor check on the web, or even travelocity, I think, has some reviews. If you google gay key west resort reviews, you'll see them pop up and some of the reviewers are quite entertaining! But just know that when you go down to Key West, you are going down to a place unlike any other in the US! And that's a good thing!
