  • Awa, beer, wine, fruit smothies, local men, lava!
The most happening place on Big Island! Wed night market, hot food vendors, live music, dancing, men watching. Awa (Polynesian muscle relaxant beverage made from awe root), beer, wine, incredible fruit smoothies. Fridays the live band also rocks out. The whole community shows up! Walk from Gay Hawaii B&B Guest House! (Parking can be difficult). Great place to meet local gay men and check out the local surfers. You can even book a lava tour from very handsome Hawaiian guys right there!

  • Active Lava,Clothing Optional Beach, Gay Community
Awesome Gay Guest House in Kalapana, Big Island, Hawaii. 3 BRs, large sunny deck, perfect location. Cell phones DO work (some Big Island places don't have cell service). Drinkable water. Close to active lava flow! Private, black sand beaches. Clothing optional Kehena Beach. Walk from GHGH to Kalpana Cafe (try fresh ono fish filet), Uncle Robert's Awa Bar (beer, wine, awa). Wed night Market with hot food, arts & crafts vendors, live music - very festive and active! True "OLD HAWAI'I" style experience!

  • The BEST weekend and weekly rates on Big Island!

Walk to Wed Farmer's Market at Uncle Robert's Awa Bar. Live Hawaiian Music, handsome local guys to check out. Local Arts and great variety of food. Kehena Beach can be a great place to skinnydip with dolphins, meet local gay folks, and tan your buns! Guests at Gay Hawaii Guest House get a discount on table Massage and warm water massage (Watsu and Aqua Nirvana). at Big Island Massage & Watsu. Go for "The Works" 45min of warm water massage followed by 45 min of table massage.... phenomenal!!! Loved sunning naked on the outdoor deck at Gay Hawaii Guest House..... You can often see the active hot lava on the hillside at night. And the milky way is amazing. Even saw shooting stars!!! BEST RATE, BEST LOCATION, MUST do Massage!

  • Awesome Thai in Historic Pahoa Town
All fresh ingredients, many organic ingredients from the cook's own garden!!! Vegetarian as well as meat options. Spiced to your preference. Shrimp summer rolls are a must! And the option of coconut milk in the Thai iced tea is delicious!!! Discount coupons for Ning's Thai are available through Gay Hawaii Guest House (9 miles away on the Kalapana Coast).

  • Monday is ''Gay Day" at Kehena Beach
A long time tradition at Kehena Beach is for the gay community to show up at the beach on Mondays. You'll meet gay people there everyday... there's a large gay community in the neighborhood. Many subdivisions in the area are over 60% gay (including Kalapana and Puna Beach Palisades). Awesome body surfing in big waves. A resident pod of spinner dolphins show up often and you could get to swim with them! Moderately steep trail down to the beach..... well worth it! Skinnydipping with dolphins! What could be more fun???

  • @ Big Island Hawaii is a great choice. Strong gay community on the East side, especially near @ Kalapana. Many gay events, pot lucks, pool parties, dance events, volleyball, spiritual study groups, hiking group, gay day (Monday) at @ Kehena clothing optional beach; gay water massage and table massage therapists, @ Gay Hawaii B&B, gay wedding Celebrant / Pastors. Awesome beaches, stunning scenery, active lava flow..... truly Paradise. Many gay people come to Big Island for their honeymoon. Living here is like living in the honeymoon full time!!! There is a particular vibrant quality to life near an active volcano and in the amazing nature of Hawaii. Hawaii attracts gay people who resonate with that energy..... and will make an awesome partner. Meanwhile, you can have a fabulous time and explore a wonderful relationship with self with hiking, waterfalls, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, watching active lava, hiking in Volcano National Park, Ahalanui hot springs, getting massage, playing volleyball, life drawing, art, meditation. HIGHLY Recommend East side of Big Island, Kalpana for vibrant lifestyle and potential for meeting an amazing partner!
