Love/Hate

First to Review - September 30, 2009

But the Love is stronger so it gets 4 stars. When Sugie is bad, it's dead and boring and makes you regret going. When it's good, you can't help but close it down and almost be glad you have a hangover the next day because it reminds you of how much fun you had. Oh, and $5 cover in brooklyn? LAME. lucky i don't knock it down to 3*s...

Fun, friendly, hot (temperature and guys). Grab some friends and some beer and have a guaranteed great time on a Saturday or Sunday. You're sure to meet some guys who will let u climb up on their boat. There's no easier place to meet new people.

Rain Bar/Club in Austin

Once you're in, it's great.

The line outside is completely ridiculous, but once you're in, it's all friendly staff, good crowd, and music you'd expect at a gay bar/club. And a great outside area to boot, as well as an extra, more relaxed, separate room with a bar inside.

Oilcan Harry's Bar/Club in Austin

Great staple.

OCH has been around forever for good reason. It's a club, a bar, an outside patio, a dark corner, a friendly chat...it's got it all. I've seen some commenters complain about rude staff, and I'm not doubting them, but I've never experienced anything but a good drink and a smile.

Kiss and Fly Austin Bar/Club in Austin

Great for LA. Only good in Austin.

Part of what makes Austin great is that it doesn't try too hard to be great. It just is. Kiss and Fly is trying. Very hard. Too hard. If you're from out of town and want to experience Austin, go to Oilcan's or Rain. If you want to experience an out-of-town club, go to Kiss and Fly.
