Robert Inman, 60. Retired Veteran. Laid-back and prefer the artsy, ethereal, intellectual types as friends or otherwise. Currently single but not sure about the dating thing as so far have found that the stigma after 30 years regarding HIV is alive and well. Yes, I have been hiv+ for 4 years now, undetectable, and do not let it define whom I am or aspire to be as I am much more than a gay man with hiv. Currently working on a book about my experience in the military BEFORE "Don't Ask Don't Tell, as it was very harsh with 'witch-hunts' on people that were even friends of people that came-up hiv+ in the 80's and led my military career very covertly in-spite of the interrogations. Am a visual artist and musician with home studio working on industrial techno-ambient compositions in spare time. Am a cat-lover and picture posted is my Maine Coon Cat-Mix, Miah; short for Jerimiah. Not much for the bar scene as most people say I have the 'cop look' or question whether I am gay; nor go out of my way trying to be the butch guy as I am who I am and comfortable with my sexuality. Enjoy reading, learning, cooking, outdoors, good coffee, and performance sport cars, however, am very non-materialistic and largest turn-off for me is pretentious snobs, drug-heads, users, pathological liars, those just looking for a free ride or fondly called "Psychic Vampires" and ignorance, which is different from stupidity, however one can be both. Am an M.E.N.S.A. member, Love candles lit durring an intense thunderstorm, sitting out and observing the moon and stars, and love music aside from anything 'hip-hop or rap' as it is like an icepick to the anger part of my brain. Am a fairly private person and like my friend Trent Reznor, am not a fan of social networking, so do not ask! Have absolutely no need for a cell phone but am an avid use of electronica, own my own car, and have my own townhouse. Nor am I a slave to consumerism and marketing, meaning am laid back and casual when it comes to clothing and appreciate a frugal and pragmatic soul as well.

Doing great things in our community!

Retired Veteran here that survived the 'Pre-Don't Ask/Don't Tell AND Don't Ask/Don't Tell Days" and worked as a community Activist for the AFLCIO when first moving to Columbus for '06 elections. When I visited The Stonewall Center I was elated to see all the information and things these people do. The Non-Profit arena is not a job one will become wealthy in rather, one does it out of passion for the Human Condition! They are now acting as liason for LifeCare Alliance/Project Open Hand's Food Drive and I encourage everyone to support this asset to the HIV community! Matter-in-fact, I just went in today and was greeted by wonderfully friendly staff who wholeheartedly accepted a cash donation for this drive so they can buy wholesale whatever their needs may be and challenge everyone reading this to do the same and give back to our community as you never know when you may unfortunately find yourself as I did almost 4 years ago, needing to use Project Open Hand's services until I got my VA Retirement all straightened out (mind the pun)!!! Kudos for all you do!
