French-Canadian who lives in Montreal. I'm studying English as a second language at McGill University. I have been working for 9 years as a civil servant for the government. I would like to meet a nice English-Canadian who knows or learns French as a second language.

Le Saloon Restaurant in Montreal
***** Food is good but sometimes music is too much loud
Posted: October 03, 2009 - Visited: February 2009
Before going there, you should verify if the music is at low volume... It is not a restaurant for a quiet and romantic moment, but if you like disco atmosphere, this restaurant is a good one.

Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis Montreal Hotel in Montreal
***** The brunch on Sundays is really good.

I have never slept at this hotel. Nevertheless, I have been there several times for the brunch on Sundays. The food is both diversified and delicious. The price is honest not exaggerated at all. The customer service is professionnal. In all, good value.

Parking (the Nightclub) Bar/Club in Montreal
***** Not my cup of tea at all
Posted: October 02, 2009
This bar has two floors. On the ground floor, there is Parking, and in the basement Tunnel. I don't like both bars for different reasons. I don't feel comfortable at the Parking because most of the clients are very muscled. They don't shy to show their nude chests on the dance floor. OK, I recognize that it is exciting to see that, but I don't want to spend my time in a bar where the guys are not attracted to me... In the case of Tunnel, the atmosphere is boring, and I don't like the clientele. I'm not snobbish at all, for I accept the guys as they are. On the other hand, I know what kind of guys are for me, and this is not the case there. In all, If you are muscled, go to Parking. If you are kinky, go to Tunnel. If you are a guy next door, go to somewhere else...

Bar Relaxe Bar/Club in Montreal
***** No dance floor. Quiet and relaxe!
First to Review - September 27, 2009
Most of the clients are in their 50's or 60's. It is not a big deal if you are there with a friend for taking a beer. The music is not loud what it means that you can talk quietly. The pool table is popular. In all, it is not really a bar for cruising, but a place for talking with a friend.

CLOSED: Le Mystique Bar/Club in Montreal
***** Very boring on Sunday night
Posted: September 27, 2009
I went to this bar on Sunday one week ago. It was about 9 pm. There were only 2 clients. I stayed 1 minute. I don't know how it is the rest of the week. Is there a Saturday night fever there? I don't think so...

Le Stud Bar/Club in Montreal
***** Not my favorite one but music on the 2nd floor...
Posted: September 27, 2009
It is not my favorite bar, but the electronica music on Saturday night on the second floor is amazing. I have never heard this kind of electronica music before. It is a funny sensation that I like a music that usually I don't like. Most of the clients are bear, leather and jeans. This last detail doesn't mean that a guy like me doesn't have his place there. Nevertheless, I have to admit that I am not the kind of guy who usually attracts them.

Le Resto Du Village Restaurant in Montreal
***** Good food and affordable prices.

My favorite restaurant in the Village. You can bring your own wine. Whatever you are alone or with friends, you feel comfortable in this restaurant. The poutine is really delicious. Daily menu is nice too. Open 24 hours a day.

Club Tools Bar/Club in Montreal
***** Good music on Saturday night but what else?
Posted: September 27, 2009
If you only want to cruise, forget it! On the other hand, if you like both dancing and having fun, this bar is a good one. On Saturday night, both disco and pop music give you the sensation that you need on a dance floor. All the great entertainers from 70's, 80's and 90's are there with passion, pleasure and nostalgia. The clientele is diversified.

Black Eagle / Aigle Noir Bar/Club in Montreal
***** Not my favorite one but the music is really good
Posted: September 27, 2009
Most customers are bear, leather or jeans, but it is not a bad thing. That's only the clients' profile. The music is really good. You can listen to rock, punk, electronica and pop! Good for me! Great place for either talking or cruising.

Sky Complex Bar/Club in Montreal
***** My favorite gay bar in Montreal
Posted: September 27, 2009
Why do I like Sky Pub? I like it, for the happy hour on weekends are a good opportunity for talking with friends in a nice atmosphere. Most customers are French-Canadians, but the employees give customer service in both French and English. There is a special price for the draft beer from 5 to 7 pm i.e. 2 for 1.
