Just moved to Puerto Vallarta from Nashville. Fairly fluent in Portuguese, still learning Spanish. Favorite Quote: "People don't quit playing because they grow old, they grow old because they quit playing." - Oliver Wendell Holmes

MaxLovesRio answered "Am going to Puerto Vallarta on June 19th. Does anyone know if los Muertos pier is done yet?"The new pier opened on January 4th. It is fabulous. It looks great and now you don't have to wade out into the water to get onto the local cruises.

Puerto Vallarta is very safe as long as you use a little common sense. Any place can be dangerous if you leave your brains at home. I feel comfortable going anywhere in Puerto Vallarta during the day and usually try to stick with streets with people on them late at night and have never had a problem. If you are in doubt, grab a taxi. If you stay on the south side, which you probably are, then you can walk to almost any gay business, restaurant, and beach. Ask your front desk clerk if there are any areas to avoid. People are very friendly in Puerto Vallarta, so you won't be alone for long. If you have a little too much to drink, take a taxi home. You don't want to walk around drunk and vulnerable alone.

Beaches in Rio de JaneiroWhere the beautiful people goJust so you know, the posts refer to the lifeguard stations which is also where there are public restrooms that are kept clean and it costs 1 Brazilian Real to use them which pays for their upkeep. They posts start in Leme north of Copacabana beach and continue south along Copacabana and then west across Ipanema and are numbered in order. Posto 9 is known as where the beautiful people go and it is true. There are a lot of gorgeous people to people watch anywhere in Brazil, but Posto 9 is exceptional. There are going to be places anywhere along Copacabana and Ipanema beaches to get drinks and foot and sit along the edge of the beach. This is a great one for the best eye-candy.

Gyms & Spas in Rio de JaneiroMakes me want to work out! These clubs have the best equipment and a large staff of people to help you out. They even come check on everyone on the cardio machines every half hour to make sure their heart rate is in the right range. They also have personal trainers who will work with you one-on-one and they don't cost much. Definitely worth it to have some georgeous Brazilian eye candy attending to you! I prefer the location on Visconde de Piraj in Ipanema. If you want a gym with a pool, you have to check out their other Ipanema location on Gomes Carneiro which has a great pool.

Restaurants in Rio de JaneiroAn amazing experience not to be missedThe food is good, and the ambiance is unbelievable. Gorgeous building will knock your eyes out. It is a "must do" to have a meal at this Rio landmark restaurant.

Restaurants in Rio de JaneiroWear pants with elastic waist bandFantastic food. I agree with nyhunkyguy that the location in Flamengo is better because of that location. This location is just in the city, but the food is the same fantastic food. There are so many choices of meat. Take small amounts to sample of several to see which ones you like best. They will all come around to your table again to get more.
