65. Love to travel, love to show off my hometown of Albuquerque. NOT a big bar scene, although some new ones have opened. Our 8th Annual Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is coming up, along with the American Veterans for Equal Rights National Conference and the ABQ International Balloon Fiesta, all in October, 2011. There is so much to offer in ABQ, from hiking and biking to shopping, great dining - write me to find out more. The Dolls, our local drag theater troupe, is producing a Halloween show at the ABQ Social Club in October. We will be holding the Rio Grande LeatherWeekend, home of International Mr. Leather 2010 Tyler McCormack and International Ms. Bootblack 2010 Jayson DaBoi, in October, 2011, the Rainbow Roadrunners Car Club annual invitational, all in October. Also, Sidewinders Bar is scheduled to re-open in September, 2011. Check out www.GoGayNewMexico.com and www.DestinationQ.com. I am also a great tour guide if you want to explore the city and state!
Great food and ambiance
El Pinto is located in ABQ's North Valley near Sandia Pueblo (and not far from their casino/hotel). It serves typical New Mexican food, based on green and red chile. The setting is wonderful, it's like you're in a big estate, and if the weather is nice, definitely sit outside under the large old cottonwoods - the prices are reasonable and the food is very good and the location is wonderful - a little drive into the country. They also sell world-famous salsa made fresh on the premises.
