CENTRAL location

This is gay central for Quebec City. Went there during July summer music festival & there were no drag shows, but this is a "Cheers"-like bar where there's the "everybody knows your name" feel. Outside cafe seating make this perfect for people watching.

Lunch time and Fridays and Saturdays

Weekdays, lunch time, and Fridays and Saturdays between 5pm to 10pm seem to be the sweet spots. Sometimes there's a rush after the bar crowd gets out at 2AM. 3rd Friday & Saturday of the month also are busy when the leather crowd is in-town. But like anything, feast or famine. :)

Excellent central location

Suites are very modern with air-condition, with access to juice & coffee in a breakfast area. Greatest asset is hotel is within the old city walls, and walking distance to all shopping and tourist areas. VERY CLEAN hotel for those that are picky. Easy access to bath house downstairs, where primetime is between 2pm to 8pm.

Hetero swingers club

OK place to hang out on a rainy day, but this is a club mainly for straight couples. If you like to watch, it might be the place for you. If are OK feeling like you crashed someone's party, and not join in, it's the place to go. Decor is top-notch, with a Buddhist spa theme and lit candles in the front area. Staff is a little distant, and rules are not explained up-front. You just get told the rules as you are perceived to break them. That's not to say that it isn't worth a venture for voyeuristic purposes.

Excellent young venue

Good club beat music attracts a young crowd, and everyone is great eye candy. Before 10 pm, bar is a straight/gay mix, after 10pm, it becomes exclusively gay to open up the back room. Guys are friendly if you make the first effort to talk, and stuff of fantasies can happen in the back room, if you are patient with young men's proclivities.

Very friendly frisky business after hours

Dated bar atmosphere, which makes this a cool, uninhibited place to hang out. Bar tender and owner are very friendly and try to make you feel at home. Great club music in the background. Maze in the back is not for the shy, and promises something for everyone. A definite stop for those who want to be adventurous.

THE pulse of Old DownTown

Found out about this sauna from locals at the gay bars. This is where they go where guys are not clicky to the point where there is no activity. Staff was very friendly & asked up-front "are you new?" At which point, they gave you the rules and the expectations, which did not happen at other establishments (where the staff barked their disdain at your faux-paux). Les Bains Douches (unlike other establishments) gave you the impression that they welcomed all customers, regardless of age, weight, height, etc. The prime time seems to be 2PM to 6PM, both young and old. The younger guys are HOT, very well put-together with toned bodies. The older guys are respectful and range in height/weight. 70% seem to be the younger crowd between 2-5 PM. Black room on the 3rd level is where guys lose their inhibitions, but plenty going on elsewhere. This is a definite stop if you are on holiday... you might have to go back 3 or 4 times during your stay!
