seems to get a rough crowd in late. the staff is nice and friendly - if they're slow. If they're busy, you can't get a smile out of them. Used to be the place to go in saint louis, but it's just attracting the wrong crowd. And the rumors that the staff don't like the owner doesn't help matters.

Some friendly staff - but the fact that you can smoke kills this little dive bar for me. That may be a selling point for others.

Now that the smoking ban has taken affect, you don't have to worry about smelling like an ash tray - but with Novak's menu heavily weighted in fried food - anyone can tell you've stopped in by the disgusting fried food aroma clinging to your clothes. Add that to the mostly rude customers and the devil-may-care staff and there is just no point in visiting this bar!

Just John is definitely the "it" bar in saint louis. It's the place to be social and have fun, and meet new people. The owners give back to the community, support local charity events, and sponsor gay sports leagues! Sometimes Just John feels like the center of the gay community in Saint Louis!
