Edwardian elegance with modern ammenities
This great little B&B is located just west of Bank Street in the Village district. Host Richard Brouse (who previously owned the Inn on Somerset) is warm and friendly and will welcome you into this stunning red brick Edwardian house transformed into a seven-room inn. All the rooms are filled with beautiful antiques and have private bathrooms. Highly recommended if you like a more relaxed stay than a modern chain hotel.
great stay
Clean, modern, sexy. Loved the faux fur throws on the bed... Super soft and sexy. Great buffet breakfast, too
fun and fabulous
Everyone at Character IS a character... I never laugh as much as when I visit for a hair appointment. There are hair salons closer to me, but I'll never go anywhere else. Kristen's my stylist and she's a pro. Gets the colour I want every time, and is a pro at cutting. Can't recommend this place enough!
I <3 After Stonewall
Going to After Stonewall is always a treat. Browsing through the bookshelves and finding a great book is like the Anti-Amazon experience, and David, the owner, is always willing to help you pick something out and his recommendations are always good. I feel it's so important to support a store like this that's been there for the community for years.
Awesome spot to go when you're a bit drunk
The food here is really good, and hits the spot after you've been at the bars and want something to eat when you're a bit toasted :) The poutine is some of the best in the city, and the phö's a safe bet, too.
Fun for karaoke
It's an awesome spot on Fridays and Sundays for karaoke. Not glamourous, but the people who come and the staff are friendly
