Trigger Bar/Club in San Francisco
Posted: August 25, 2009
Had a great experience at Trigger last Saturday night on my birthday! If you're a local or there for a visit like me, definitely check it out. The go-go dancers & bartenders were really HOT, the drinks & service were excellent, and most importantly (in my book) THE MUSIC!!! So much better than the played out crack-pop remixes at Badlands! I don't know what all the negative reviews are about, but this club was definitely a much needed upgrade for the Castro dance scene. Thanks for making my birthday great Trigger (the fact that Falcon pornstar TJ Hawke gave me a superb birthday lap dance made it 10X better!)
W Los Angeles - Westwood Hotel in Los Angeles

I'm a little biased due to the fact that I worked for Starwood Hotels and Resorts (The W's parent company) for several years, and I took advantage of the employee rates at many of the properties, including this one. The W is all about Whatever, Whenever... and I've put that to the test ;) The W Westwood is tucked away in a residential area close to UCLA, The Century City Westfield, and one of my favorite sushi spots, Tomodachi Sushi. As Scott pointed out, it's a little bit out of the way from WeHo (about a 10 minute drive to Santa Monica Blvd & Robertson), but it's still one of my favorite sanctuaries in L.A.
Piranha Nightclub & 8 1/2 Ultra Lounge Bar/Club in Las Vegas

Heard about this place from one of the locals, and it surpassed my expectations to say the least. Got there around 11 on a Saturday night, and was given a VIP wristband and didn't have to pay the $10 cover (I think the doorman had a thing for redheads). Upon entering, I was met with an eclectic mix of cowboys, hot latinos, and tranny divas. I headed to the closest of the 3 bars, and found the drinks were strong and cheap, the same way I like my men. I have an amazing talent for stumbling upon clubs with Falcon pornstar go-go dancers, and on tonight's menu was Roman Heart and his BF Ben Bradley. Had a great time 'til almost 6 a.m. thanks to the strong drinks, the DJ, the cowboys, and the hot dancers.
Abbey Bar/Club in Los Angeles

My friends and I love to use the Abbey as a jump-off point for a night out in WeHo. The drinks are strong, the bartenders are hot (and mostly straight?!), and the DJ is usually spinning some decent house or pop remixes. On Saturdays, there are some pretty intense go-go dancers doing big things on the bar Coyote Ugly style, and they are exceedingly popular with the fag hags and fruit flies that are a staple in the gay community.
What I'm not feeling about this joint is the lack of a dance floor and the older, bitter steroid queens that congregate here on a regular basis. It's LA, so of course there's attitude, but I don't need it from some over-tanned and under-sexed grandpa that should be in Arizona or Florida, or up the street at Numbers.
P.S. On Saturdays, go across the street to Cherry Pop at Ultrasuede (on Robertson next to Apple) for some great dancing and drink specials.
