I used to bartend at this bar when it was called The Other Side. My main complaint about the owners of that bar was 1) they never did anything to update the decor of the bar; and 2) it looked dirty, like there was a thin layer of dust everywhere. I went to Varieties a couple weeks ago, and it does not look like the same bar. It's been updated with the decor, clean, and there is a dance floor (something the previous owners always talked about doing, but never did). The staff, and owner are very nice too. The Other Side was a popular bar in its time. I hope Varieties becomes that.
