DavidOppedisano answered "Heading to London and want to catch some great shows outside of the West End and on the Fringe...."The three most consistently popular and revered smaller theatres are the Royal Court [Chelsea], the Almeida [Islington] and the Donmar [Covent Garden], all of which have been known to draw big-name stars and all of which have entries on this website. The Lyric Hammersmith [formerly run by (gay) writer Neil Bartlett] and the King's Head [Islington] both have notable gay histories. The Menier Chocolate Factory has produced several acclaimed revivals of musicals, and the Bush, Tricycle and Hampstead all have enjoyed acclaim at one point or other. It's best to check Time Out or West End Whingers [two reliable gay guys] etc. for what might be worth seeing because I've not mentioned many notable theatres that should not be ignored. A good list of fringe theatres can be found here: http://www.londontheatre.co.uk/
