Beautiful food in a beautiful space

Gorgeous space with white stone tiles, soft backlighting, and a sexy staff that took great care of me. Had shrimp with basmati rice that was spectacular. No skimping on the shrimp. There was one in every bite. Bread pudding with rum and raisin ice cream for dessert. If I were a cat, I would have curled up in front of the fireplace and started purring.

A convenient indulgence

I stayed a weekend here during the Reel Affirmations film festival. The location could not have been more perfect. Most of the movie venues were within a block or two, making it easy to stop back in my room for a refresher between movies. Plus, Kimpton sponsors the film festival. A little pricey, but it's a nice indulgence. Nice wine reception in the evening to meet other guests.

My favorite DC spot for 14 years, and counting

This is the best place to go to meet people in Dupont Circle, of all ages and types. Wonderfully free of attitude, and a waitstaff that falls all over to be friendly and helpful, even to grumpy customers. Consistently good food at a good price. The recent makeover added some new and more healthy items to the menu, but the comfort food is still there too

My Favorite Place

Updated: New Year's Eve menu this year (2012) was phenomenal. Chardonnay wine pairing with the oysters appetizer was excellent. Good show, chef Jared. Previous review: I would rather be here than just about anyplace else. Food is great, whether one wants comfort food or something creative. Very sociable bar where people like to meet each other, and no attitude. Super friendly wait staff that makes me feel like a welcome friend.

Outstanding Food, Accommodations, and Location

Perfect for access to Mt Vernon, Inner Harbor, and Federal Hill. Comfortable, well-decorated rooms make a nice indulgence. Consistently great breakfasts that varied so not the same food everyday. Great way to get acquainted with Baltimore.
