Do you want to get yelled at? Do you want dick bartenders, who have no right to be? Cool, come to Excelsior. They do have a good jukebox, but the atmosphere defeats the purpose of listening to good music. If you go, go during the summer. They do have a great outdoors...when they are not yelling at you.

I wouldn't make a special trip to come here, but if your in the lower half of East Village, pop on in. Good, strong happy hour too. Tends to be empty quite often, but the bartenders are great as is the jukebox. Rag tag crowd.

The crowd is very random. From sometimes cute, to usually creepy. It's great for no pretense and large space, but the go-go boys are something to be desired and each time I have been there, it smells...let's just say, dirty, not in the good way.

Go for Moustache Ride parties every month, cute guys, great music, cheap/strong drinks, zero attitude. A place with no pretense and complete silly fun.
