Gay New Year’s Eve Parties: Los Angeles

Hopping in a cab on NYE headed for WeHo, you’re bound to find the party tone dialed to eleven. From the Abbey to Fiesta (to ELEVEN for that matter), the boys and girls of the night will be out in full force, ushering in a new year with cocktails in hand. But if it’s an enclosed party atmosphere you seek, there are some great options to choose from:

The WeHo party of choice this year is Fireball – Saints and Sinners at Ultra Suede. Cherry Pop and Mr. Black have teamed up to make sure you herald in the New Year surrounded by plenty of hot go-gos and pretty party people.

If you’ve repressed your inner circuit-boy since the ’90s ended and are feeling good about the new decade’s return to synth-beat temples of shirtless giration, Masterbeat at the Mayan Theater should do the trick. Just remember to stay hydrated!

Looking for something different? If you’re tired of the generic hot gay party mess and want a New Year’s with a little quirk, check out Miss Kitty’s Magic in Hollywood. This burlesque party promises to be a “fantasy masquerade disco dance ball and pleasure playground for gods, monsters, fairies, witches, princesses and shining knights,” however you want to break that down. Added bonus to Miss Kitty for offering an inclusive party for queer boys and girls alike.

If you’re seeking more kink than quirk, Stud 79 with Steve Cruz at the Faultline won’t disappoint. Far from the twinkling lights of WeHo, this man’s man party offers plenty of scruff, a dark room and a “maze.” Happy New Year to you, too!
