lesbian-momsFrom London to Cardiff, British lesbians are being targeted for a new kind of travel package – one that could include much more carry-on luggage than usual. Rainbow Travel, an agency that specializes in the gay market, has teamed up with Spanish-based fertility clinic Instituto Bernabeu to offer couples a romantic getaway with a little something extra. Sperm donors’ right to anonymity was revoked in Britain, and many would-be-parents in the UK worry that their child might one day look up the biological father. Over in Spain, it’s a different story. Not only is anonymity intact, but the socially liberal country legalized gay marriage four years ago, and has seen 12,000 same-sex weddings since. Now lesbians can conceive a child on their honeymoon just like straight couples – what a luxury.
