Autumn Prides to relive summer fun

Summer will soon become a fading memory. With any luck next to go is your already fuzzy recollection of what actually happened during Pride, that all-nighter on Fire Island, and, ah yes, Folsom Street Fair.

But don’t throw in the party towel just yet. Pride season isn’t quite down for the count, and these fabulous fall celebrations are worthy of one last hurrah. We’ve rounded up some of the top autumn prides:

Atlanta Pride (October 9-10) — Get out to Piedmont Park and join Atlanta’s bustling community for a weekend of Southern revelry. This year Kimberly Locke is set to perform (Saturday; 8:15 @ Coke Stage), as well as a number of other booty-shakin’ artists on multiple stages. Spirits are sure to be high, so carry that energy with you when the sun goes down to one of the many special nightlife events scheduled. You’ll need it!

Come Out with Pride Central Florida (October 7-10) — When gay Floridians flock together every year in October, two things happen. First, the kid who plays Aladin at Disney World temporarily ceases to be the queerest thing in Orlando. Second, the Sunshine State’s biggest gay event rolls out all the stops with pride.

Palm Springs Pride (November 6-7) — While the rest of the country is getting acclimated to the first hints of autumnal chill, Palm Springs gays are off getting the last summer laugh. In their underwear no less. If you can make it out to this desert oasis, don’t forget to reapply the sunscreen as you relive your entire summer in one fell swoop. Whether your drink of choice is a vodka-from-the-bottle is entirely up to you.

Palm Springs Leather Pride (November 11-14) — Maybe you still haven’t shaken the Pride bug (try antibiotics). Or maybe you just woke up from a three-day cat nap in your room at the Ace Hotel after an especially successful Palm Springs Pride. Either way you’re in luck! Pride’s deviant leather-bound sibling rolls into town the following weekend. Who said sloppy seconds were a bad thing?
