It was one of our toughest–and most fun–assignments: the GayCities guide to Amsterdam. After all, the metropolis boasts one of the most diverse social scenes in all of Europe, with nearly 50 overflowing gays bars & clubs catering to every conceivable identity and scene–one of the many reasons it’s a huge draw for gay & lesbian visitors.
So we were fortunate to come across a local couple, Tim Rease and Paul Wullems, who turned out to be perfect for the job. Two for the price of one, as they say. Paul is a regular on the Amsterdam party curcuit, guest DJ at Prik, where every year he spins at Songfestival party. Tim, meanwhile, is a writer and editor of distinction. The couple is passionate about their fabulous gay city, and it shows in the detailed understanding of where to play in gay Amsterdam.
