We Love The Nightlife! Shake Your Groove Thing And Party Like A Rock Star in L.A.

Where’s the Party? Because Los Angles is so large and spread out, nightlife really varies depending on where you go, allowing for numerous options. Whether you choose to stay in West Hollywood or venture somewhere else (the Valley, Silver Lake), there are plenty of great nightspots to visit.

Here are some of the most popular.

Neon Sign in West Hollywood CA

Micky’s

Micky’s is a West Hollywood institution with cute bartenders and something for everyone. The dance floor is always hopping, but if that’s not your thing, there’s a big outside patio and a nice upstairs lounge. This place is on the strip (a.k.a. Santa Monica Boulevard) in the heart of the gayborhood, so you can always start your night here and bounce around without having to drive.

the-eagle

The Eagle

Doesn’t every city have an Eagle? Los Angeles is no exception. This Eagle is actually in Silver Lake and boasts a friendly crowd and staff. It’s geared for leather and kink lovers (and their admirers, natch) and it gets pretty crazy on the weekend. So, put on your best chaps and get down. Be sure to check out their calendar so you don’t miss theme nights like Meat Rack, Tightwad Tuesday, or their Mr. Leather contests.

akbar

Akbar

This low-key and cool spot is also in Silver Lake, but it attracts a mixed crowd, most of whom are here to mingle, chat, and drink. You’ll find drag queens, businessmen, and locals, so the options to make friends are limitless. In addition to having the best jukebox in town, the people here are friendly, the bevs are priced right and, unlike at a lot of places, you might actually be able to have a real conversation with someone.

oil-can-harry's

Oil Can Harry’s

Oil Can Harry’s is in the Valley, so be prepared to drive (or better yet, use Uber or Lyft). However, it’s worth the trip as the people here have little to no attitude and the crowd is diverse. You may not see as many perfect-looking WeHo guys here, but what’s wrong with run-of-the-mill hotness? Besides, most people will be friendly and willing to show you a good time. The music is mostly country, but on Saturdays they rock the house with ’70s disco.

fubar

Fubar

Located in WeHo, but a bit of a walk from the heart of Boys Town, this feels like a neighborhood place. This space is small — or shall we say, intimate — so count on it being a bit crowded. But the edgy East Village vibe is always fun and the staff is hot. Each night has a different theme (Pole Party Monday, Big Fat Dick, Saturday Night Slut), so check out its website to see what turns your crank.

here_lounge

Here Lounge

Here Lounge is located next to the world-famous Abbey, but it gets just as busy. There’s a large outside area where you can cool off after shaking it off on the dance floor or getting all hot and bothered from watching the supremely hot go-go dancers.

faultline

Faultline

L.A.’s other notorious leather bar is open from Wednesday to Sunday, serving up an underwear night on Thursdays, Sucker Punch Happy Hours on Wednesdays, and a popular Sunday afternoon beer bust. This bar has been around since 1994 — it opened just after the infamous Northridge earthquake, making its name especially prophetic — and is a place to party like there’s no tomorrow.
