A Glimpse into the World of Montreal Photographer Jean-François Portelance

Aleksa

When we were up in Montreal for Divers/Cité we caught a special poolside photography exhibition featuring the work of Jihef Photo at the swanky Hilton Bonaventure. Jihef Photo is a small company started in the city by Gatineau-born photographer Jean-François Portelance. Jean-François studied photography at La cité Collégiale in Ottawa and moved to Montreal to build his portfolio after graduating in 2006. Over the past few years he has become an established fixture in the city’s vibrant gay community by photographing local performers and personalities such as Mado Lamotte, Michel Dorion and the gorgeous Brandon Jones.
