Queer Threads: Crafting Identity and Community is a powerful new exhibition currently on display at New York City’s Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art. Curator John Chaich assembled this group show to explore notions of aspiration, socialization and representation through artists who employ thread-based craft material, techniques, and processes. The exhibition, on display through March 16. The museum is the first and only one dedicated to gay and lesbian art in the world with a mission to exhibit and preserve gay and lesbian art, and foster the artist who create it. The museum has a collection of more than 50,000 works, an artist archive with information on over 3,000 LGBTQ artists, and a library of over 2,000  of LGBTQ art.
