One of our favorite things about our community is how, even though many of us are quite different from each other, we come together each year to celebrate Pride as a group of people with something in common.
So, in celebration of gay pride month 2008, we set out to find a cross section of our community on the web and around the world and find out where and how they celebrate pride. We’ll talk to mayors, actors, bloggers, radio talk show hosts, comedians, you name it. What does Pride mean to them and what are they doing to celebrate?

Pride means to me . to let my hair down and be totaly myself. Tommy
I always thought my family would disown me if I came out of the closet. I come from a close-knit southern family full of boys. I never gave my brothers a chance to accept me for who I was, until recently. To my amazement, they accepted my being gay with very few reservations. Sure, they had concerns, but they love me, and their biggest thing was that I felt like I had to hide something so important in my life from them. Pride means coming from a family that loves me unconditionally and accepts the person I am.
