"U-Bar" Upstairs Inn which is how the B&B is now referred, is a pleasant place to stay. The room was clean and knew I was staying over a bar, so the noise didn't bother me. It felt like it was dead center to the City's tourist attractions and all the gay night spots. The staff was courteous and helpful. When I had trouble with my TV set in the room, a guy who worked as a barback came up to my room and got the set working. Contrary to other reviews, I found the U-Bar staff polite and friendly, but not overly so. And as for the cleintele at U-Bar, I noticed a mixture of different age groups whenever I sat at the bar. There were lots of guys in their 30s, 40s and 50s but I also noticed guys in their 20s who used the place as a stop over to Voyeur. So, if any of the reviews you read say the place is full of old people - it's propably because the person writing the review is elderly-phobic. All in all, UBar's Upstairs Inn aint' the fanciest place in town but it worked for me.

The part that sold me on this place is that the price was less than at others, but despite the "cheap" price, the rooms are well worth the money. Very smartly decorated and the staff is very friendly and helpful to both you and any friends that come by. (my 3 female cousins came to see me, and the bartender called up to let me know they were there, and was very cordial per my cousins). The only down side that I experienced was that the music in the bar makes sleeping somewhat difficult and there is noice in the street outside till fairly late. It might be somewhat quieter if the room was away from Camac St. Mine was right on it, and "kids" were screaming in the alley way after bar closing).

A quiet, unassuming little B&B in the heart of Philadelphia's historic Arts District. Two blocks in "any" direction, to HIGH END shopping, naturally Tiffany's, and renown restaurants, as well as theaters and the World Class Kimmel Center. I think it's a great choice for the price and it's locale, and there is a fun little quiet bar by the same owners on the first floor to start your evening off and end it on the way back in. The rooms are very tastefully appointed for the value!
