   hi all, traveling to NOLA next week for the big party. looking for hotel suggestions bourbon/canal. looking forward to meet new friends, ttyl.

   I think the Monteleone is a great hotel. It's a little stuffy, but you usually can find great rates and it's an easy walk to the bars (you are already in the quarter). I'd pick this over a lot of the Canal Street options.

   The hotels along Canal are all pretty good - the typical business hotels. Friends have stayed at the Astor Crowne Plaza twice and liked it (the rooms were nice enough).

   I've also stayed at the Westin, the Ritz Carlton and the Windsor Court - all a bit on the pricy side, but I wanted to be a little pampered. ;) The Windsor Court and the Westin felt just a little too far from the action.

   And then there's tons of B&Bs around - which gives you a better NOLA feel.
