Moving to Chicago soon

   In about 7 months or so, my partner (of a year and a half) and I are planning on moving to Chicago. He was in the Navy there, and really liked it. I would love to move there and see what all of the fuss is about. I have lived in Texas for most of my life, been to Vegas and L.A. for a short period, and nothing is more like home than Texas itself. We'd like to move to Chicago and more or less get a fresh start. Too many things have happened to us this year so far and we're sick and tired of all the negatives. We'll be looking for places of employment and living quarters. We'd like to make some connections in Chicago, maybe someone helpful who can lead us around and show us the do's and don'ts. Heh. Places of interest for living, cheap Apt rates, good places to work, great clubs to go to, and above all would like to meet people who are real and not fake and willing to take in 2 Texas boys and show us how great Chicago can be. We're not looking for financial help, just someone to show us around. Thanks.

   Being born & raised in chicago know this area well..believe me there are plenty of things to here I'm sure you won't get bored..tons of bars, restaurants, lake michigan in the summer is awesome..cultural aspects: museums, art institute & much more..The only negatives are its very expensive to live there..taxes are very high in chicago been there done that..(just a word of caution)..but if that's OK with u then go-for-it.....chicago's a great cultural town have fun guys!!!
