I just want to make sure I have a good time in SF. I intend to come from the start of sept for three weeks.

SF can be an incredible party town if you know where to go and when. There is of course the main drag on Castro--I'd suggest Q Bar on a Wednesday night and The Cafe on a Friday--other than that it can be hit or miss. Badlands is fun if you're into bubblegum pop (I'm not but to each their own). Also there are two new bars on market--Trigger and Blackbird--which can be fun if the crowd is right. There are some amazing events outside the Castro as well. I highly recommend a party called Bootie in SOMA (South of Market)--it's mixed about 50/50 gay/straight, and they have amazing mashup djs all night. It happens every two weeks, so if you're here for three, you'll have no excuse not to go! You can check upcoming dates at http://www.bootiesf.com/ As far as where to stay, there are some cheap hostels like Elements in the Mission (though the neighborhood can get a little dicey late at night) or you can try couchsurfing.com to find locals who host travelers. Other than that, there are plenty of lower-cost motels and hotels around the city. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!
