The guidebooks pointed me to a gay area near the theater district, but it was small and seemed very crowded with just regular people. It didn't feel very gay at all. To top it off, I was looking into the window of one of the gay trinket shops, and a john came up and tried to offer me time with some female prostitutes! A great new hotel near the Arenal volcano. We didn´t know what to expect, but were happily surprised! We both work stressful jobs and needed a fun and relaxing getaway. They have a clothing optional pool that is kept comfortably warm and the cocktails were included in the rate and kept flowing all day long. The volcano erupted several times during the day which we could see from the pool and our rooms. We were able to see a little lava at night due to the rain 80( but we all had a good time. Anytime we needed anything the owners always helped us and were both very friendly. The only downside is that we only had 3 days there and can´t wait to go back. The rooms were clean and nicley done. I would highly reccommend this hotel.
