ah, dating. never easy. so many ups and downs trying to find a husband :-) in one sense, it's simply a numbers game, and sites like this one certainly present plenty of numbers and the opportunity to match up your interests. so my advice is to be patient, make a lot of friends, go on as many dates as possible, and just enjoy the whole process...

The Bay Area Reporter (the gay paper for the SF area) has a lot of wedding info in the latest issue, including a county-by-county rundown of where you need appointments, who is open on the weekends, etc.

Check out http://www.ebar.com/, and then the county summary is a PDF file that you get by clicking on the bright yellow box which reads "California County Wedding Information!"

There are two web sites referenced in the issue which might be of interest to you, bill42: sonomaweddingsource.com and napaweddingsource.com. I've never used either, but they both have sections on GLBT weddings, so they might have good info for you.

Many congratulations to you both!

BTW, I also prefer Santa Rosa and the Russian River to Sonoma or Napa. Pretty, closer to the ocean, and not as commercial!

Hey Bill,
Congrats! I hope you do get married. We are getting married in Santa Rosa this Tuesday. The County Clerk said they were slammed, so call for an appointment.
We became Domestic Partners in San Francisco 16 years ago & city hall is beautiful & romantic. Santa Rosa is in Sonoma Valley (wine country) & has lots of great B&B's & Guerneville (gay town) is 24 miles towards the coast. All in what your looking for.
Good luck & I wish you many happy years together.
John

My partner and I are thinking of going to California (we live in Chicago), to get married once they allow that next week. Is anyone else thinking of doing the same?

We probably will go to San Francisco, because we've never been. We're also debating about whether to make it an intimate affair for the two of us or if we should plan out a full wedding - a wine country wedding might be nice.

Anyone have any thoughts?
